The Department of Basic Neurosciences at the Medical Faculty of the University of Geneva is looking to sponsor applicants for Eccellenza Professorial Fellowships from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Eccellenza Fellows will be appointed as non-tenure track Assistant Professors at the University of Geneva. Candidates exploring basic or translational questions in the neurosciences will be considered. 
SNSF eligibility criteria include at least two years of research activity at a Swiss Research Centre, Swiss nationality or a Swiss higher education degree.

Your profile
You have an outstanding research record and are looking to develop your independent group within the Medical Faculty of Unige. You have strong communication skills and will contribute to teaching. We offer
We will sponsor your application for a SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship and will act as a host institution. Eccellenza covers your salary and provides project funds of up to 1,000,000 Swiss francs for a five-year period. We will complement this support with a research endowment, laboratory facilities, administrative support, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. The Department of Basic Neurosciences is located in the Centre Medical Universitaire and consists of 14 research groups with researching in fields ranging from developmental to circuit and cognitive neurosciences.
